Every child knew to come inside before dusk, for that’s when the hawk liked to fly. It didn’t flap its wings — it drifted like smoke, silent and sharp.
But one day, a girl named Elowen climbed to the cliffs, carrying nothing but a wooden flute and a question that had haunted the village for years.
What she found changed the fate of the hawk... and of the village forever.
